Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday Meditation … the word maundy is derived from the Latin meaning “command”.: Jesus commanded his disciples, “Love one another as I have loved you.” Our Lenten pilgrimage is nearing its end, but who would have ever thought when we started on Ash Wednesday we’d endure the current COVID-19 pandemic!? While the finish line is in view, yet our race is not complete; there’s still a long way to run as we consider Christ in crisis of the crucifixion: Good Friday with all of Christ’s anguish, suffering, and shame. And why? Because God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son; to die for sinners … like you and me! So, let’s not throw it all away: “There should be a consistency that runs through us all. For Jesus doesn’t change– yesterday, today, tomorrow, he’s always totally himself” [see Hebrews 13:8 TMR]. Amen.

A gracious reminder: as we suffer with Christ in Crisis; in order to address the mission and ministry needs of others during Lent, let us remember our time of Sacrifical Giving on Easter Sunday Morning. 40 days of laying aside $2 per day equals $80.00! Let every Disciple of Christ of Saint Paul Church exhibit consistency in Sacrifical Giving to the poor, needy, and destitute in the spirit of love as Jesus commands!!! God bless each of you and your families as well. Peace and Blessings Always….
