Dr. William-Hazel Height [ aka “the Lion of the Tribe of Judah”] is currently the Senior Pastor of the Saint Paul Church in Durham, North Carolina, where he has served since 1994.  He is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and was educated and reared in Baltimore, Maryland. Pastor Height matriculated at Virginia Union University, where he received the Bachelor of Science in Special Education and minor in Religion (1983) and Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina (1990). He received the Doctor of Ministry Degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor of School of Theology at Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia (2000).

In addition to his pastoral duties, Pastor Height served as the Recording Secretary of the Lot Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention, Parent Body; and is currently a member of the of the Board of Directors. Until 1998, he served for four years as the Historian of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Inc. He has represented Saint Paul Church preaching and teaching, serving, and sacrificing in Guyana, South America, South Africa, Kenya, West Africa, and Los Angeles, California has a member of Lott Carey mission teams,

Serving as God’s appointed Shepherd, Pastor Height has implemented programs both mission and ministries, that have encouraged, enriched, edified and erupted a season of revival in the lives of God’s people in church, community and global. His teachings continue to evangelize those who are lost and searching for God in this postmodern Christian era when prophetic preaching is sorely needed. Pastor Height’s realistic and factual biblical preaching and teaching has convicted and converted many hearts; and causing the Saint Paul family to move from “mere Christianity” to “relationship with Jesus Christ.”

In fact, his life has been endowed with the Spirit’s anointing, obedience, and divine favor. The joys of Pastor Height’s life are his wife, Joy, and his four children: Britanie Almitra, Kendace Marie, Kenneth Wayne and Chauncie Khalil (and “Madam Sassy” the family’s faithful French Bulldog!)

Saint Paul Church has been favored by God to have the Reverend Dr. William-Hazel Height as its called, anointed, and appointed Shepherd. Through his relationship with Jesus Christ, God’s Kingdom is growing and “the best is yet to come!”
